Condominium Mechanical Systems Upgrade
A condominium in Richmond Hill requested a complete assessment of their existing chiller plant, make-up air systems and domestic cold water service.
As part of the Energy Assessment, energy-efficient retrofit options and upgrades were proposed, including operational cost savings and preventative maintenance plans.
TrinityEng prepared the assessment and subsequent detailed design for a new cooling plant featuring a new top-end energy-efficient chiller, high efficiency make-up air units and a new domestic cold water booster pump package with variable frequency drives.
The new systems were designed to provide the building with reliable operation for 25+ years, energy savings and a higher level of occupant comfort.
Following the project, the Client now enjoys an annual electricity use reduction of 135,000 kWh and an annual natural gas use reduction of 40,000 m3. This amounts to over ~$40,000 in annual operational savings.
TrinityEng secured and obtained for the Client a combined incentive of $35,000 through the local utility programs.
